In order to raise the real industry knowledge of students, Laboratory of Logistics and Supply Chain Management organized a guest lecture entitled “The Role of Industrial Engineer Graduates in the Transformation of Oil and Gas Upstream Industry” on 14 September 2015. It was delivered by Mr. Mark Ivan Doli, as a senior manager of Supply Chain Management (SCM) at Joint Operating Body (JOB) Pertamina-Medco E&P Tomori, one of the biggest oil and gas companies in Indonesia.
In this guest lecture, a set of interesting topics on how SCM Department conducts its business process at an oil and gas company was presented. According to Mr. Mark Ivan Doli, SCM Department of JOB Pertamina-Medco E&P Tomori handles four main aspects: material management, procurement, system and planning, and logistics and marine. Since this guest lecture was participated by 120 students – with mostly final year undergraduate and master students, an interactive discussion was occurred concerning today’s challenge in the actual industry.
From this event, the participants were expected to have a better understanding about their roles as future industrial engineer.
