Specific Detail Info | PT Astra Otoparts Divisi NusaMetal is an Aluminum die casting industry which produces a case of manual transmission called Transmission Case MII. It is an automotive component of Isuzu Panther. These products are made by PT Astra Otoparts Divisi NusaMetal for PT. Mesin Isuzu Indonesia. Defective products claims from PT. Mesin Isuzu Indonesia are tend to increase between 5,78% to 26,66%. Refer to Purchasing Agreement between both companies, if the level of defective products more than 3%, PT. Astra Otoparts Divisi NusaMetal have to replace each unit of defective product with the new one that fulfil quality specification, and pay machining cost of each defective product. This Final Assignment is implemeting six sigma approaching in one cycle of DMAIC phases. Using seven tools and FMEA method to analyze and improve the production processes. The alternatives of improvement are developed by FMEA’s recommended action and implemented with consideration of company actual situation and condition. There are three kind of critical defects such as porosity, leak, and flowlines. All of them are influenced by melting process and casting process. That is why this research is concentrated on melting process and casting process. The goal of this improvement activities are reducing DPMO and increasing Sigma Level of production process of Transmission Case MII . There were a changed on DPMO and Sigma Level between pre-research and after-improve phase. DPMO decline from 49.565 to 12.346. Sigma level increased from 3,1 to 3,7. Key words : Six Sigma, DMAIC, Seven Tools, FMEA, DPMO, Level Sigma, Casting, Melting, Porosity, Leak, and Flowlines. |
