| Specific Detail Info | Aircraft maintenance is one of crucial activity in aircraft safety system. Refers to aircraft incident or accident statistic by Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee, from 1997-1998 the number of aviation accident is highly increased. In 1999, the data shows that accident cause by human and technical combination is about 35,48%. From UK Civil Aviation Authority (1990-2000), maintenance error has been identified as one of major contributing cause in aircraft accidents where the data shows a steady rise. One of critical activity in aircraft maintenance is shift changeover activity. It is universally recognized that at the point of changing shifts, the need for effective communication between the outgoing and incoming personnel in aircraft maintenance is extremely important. The absence of such effective communication has been evident in many accident reports from various industries, not just aircraft maintenance. Task Analysis will be used in analyzing shift changeover process. Interview, discussion and shadowing are used to help studying the maintenance personnel’s problem in shift changeover activity. From Task Analysis will be gained possibility error and memory come out as the most frequent human sub-system used in this activity and poor documentation design come out as the most frequent root causes in error shaping factor of this analysis. New documentation design, new procedure , training and shift meeting recommendation are made to improve shift changeover activity.
