Specific Detail Info | Airline revenue management for single flight has been a subject of extensive study for the last decades. This article studies dynamic programming for two parallel flights, which owned by the same airline company and has different schedule departure. Passenger choice behavior for parallel flights condition can classify into two category, time sensitive passengers and price sensitive passengers. Price sensitive passenger has flexibility to choose between parallel flights depends on the cheaper price. Seat allocation in each fare class determined first as booking control when booking request from passenger comes along booking periods. The ticket priced are dynamically adjust depend on the number of booked seat in that period. The probability of flexible passenger (price sensitive passenger) to choose one of flight also induced total expected revenue such that their proportion in potential passenger arrival rate. The model performance is also being analyzed using total expected revenue criteria. Key words: parallel flights, dynamic programming, passenger choice behavior |
