Specific Detail Info | Milk is one of the principal ingredients that works on meet people’s nutrition. Milk is a potential commodity to be developed. Nowadays, demand of milk increased by 14% per years, but the number of production (increased by 7% per years) is not satisfy the demand. One of the centers of cattle farms is Malang regency with production by 127.529.424 liters in 2012. As one of the centers of cattle farms in East Java Province, Malang regency had determined milk as main commodity. Therefore, this research was conducted in order to identify business process on cattle farms in order to create a competitive advantages in domestic and international market. In order to develop that, a good strategic plan is needed. Cattle farms and village unit cooperative (KUD) had determined as object of this research because they are the upstream industry players. Strengthening dairy commodities, which is carried by strengthening of the farm production system, has purposes to provide added value for farmer’s income that led to the improvement of the society’s welfare. This research resolved using network mapping value chain, supply chain and business process modelling with CIMOSA. These methodology is used to determine the part of the business process that need to be improved. The recommendations proposed are: improve the farm activities, manage the input seed and fodder for cattle productivity improvement and change the mindset of farmers. Hence, this business has profit oriented at the end. Increasing the value of the investment is also done by constructing of milk processing to increase the value of dairy products. |
