Abstract/Notes Cashew peeling process in Badas village, Kediri is done by using manual tools called Kacip. The cashew peeling process which is done by using Kacip generates work posture with less ergonomic. The work posture has a high-level risks indicated by score of REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) which is 12 until 14. It also can cause physical complaints from workers. Based on the background above, it is required cashew peeling tool to improve the working methods of cashew peelers.Designing cashew peeling tool is done by using QFD (Quality Function Deployment) to accommodate user needs and Value Engineering to get tools with the highest value. The design of the tool begins with the identification of the initial conditions of the cashew peeling activity. Then is performed an interviews and the fulfillment of questionnaires to determine user needs as well as the level of importance of the attribute. The results of the identification of the user needs is obtained the product’s attributes such as price, security, comformity, ease of use, easy to carry, and strength. These attributes are supported by a technical response such as form of blades, blade material, tool material, the material of the table, a knife mechanism, the mechanism of tools, weight of tools, and the dimensions of the tool. Then is performed value engineering in the concept generation. From the results is obtained stainless steel for blade material, plywood and metal for table materials, and the shape of blade is horizontal. The concept has the highest value which is is 1.142 with 3.49 function and cost 1,097,374. The selected concept is realized as concept prototype which to be tested.Prototyping is done by making tools such as the selected concept and using appropriate size of the human body. Tests on the prototype showed cashew peeling position is better than before. These results are indicated by a REBA score where REBA score after the use of the tool is smaller than while using the Kacip. By using new cashew peeling, the REBA score is 6.
