| Abstract/Notes | PT Penataran Angkatan Laut (PT PAL) Persero is project-based business that has business objective to has stable number of workers with a growth rate is zero percent. This means the recruitment process is held when there are workers that retire with number of new workers same as number of retired worker. The implication from this condition is knowledge from retired workers have to be stored and shared as the intellectual or intangible asset that will be used for doing the project to compete in the future market. However, the current condition of workers composition shows highest proportion of eldest group classification that might cause problem on losing the knowledge from retired workers before they leaving, who have the knowledge from their experience, especially on tacit knowledge. As attempt to solve the problem, PT PAL needs strategy on developing and accommodating systematic process to maintain labors knowledge, from its old labors to do storing and sharing knowledge to young labors. Therefore, PT PAL needs to initiate knowledge management through assessment that the result shows knowledge management readiness will be used as a good overview of where they are at and prepare a new strategy to improve it. The findings show the current position according to the result of assessment using APO KM Assessment Tool shows Corporate Strategic Planning Division has reached the level Introduction or level three while the expected position is level Refinement or level four. In accordance to the KM enablers that included in APO KM Assessment Tool, obtained score of category, highest to lowest, from Process, Technology, Leadership, People, Learning and Innovation, KM Outcomes and Knowledge Process. In further, total of category has forty-two questions that results shows the obtained score from the classification of highest gap score, which are question number 26, 27, 29, 2, 14, 24, 25, 33, 36, 37, 38, 41, 22, 28, 31, 39, 23, 30, 32, and 40. As the strategy that answer the findings, there are selected APO KM Method Tools, which are Communities of Practice, Mentoring, Expert Group Discussion, Sharing Session Club, Innovation Contest, Knowledge Sharing, Peer Assists, Learning Review, After Action Review, Taxonomy, Document Libraries, Blogs, Knowledge Bases. |
