Abstract/Notes | Transportation is one of the fundamental matters in today’s life. Aircraft as one of transportation modes have been used a lot lately by public. There are several benefits of using aircraft as transportation. One of them is because it is the most time-saving transportation compared to other transportations. The advanced technology in aircrafts enables this transportation to be ten times faster than other kinds of transportation. The demands for aircraft keep increasing each year. The cost for a flight that used to be expensive nowadays becomes more competitive even when compared to train. Besides being considered helpful by the customers, air transportation also supports economic growth and tourism in Indonesia. Indonesian government even plan to bring 20 million international visitors in 2019. This number is twice as many international visitors achieved in 2015. To support this, several preparations have been done. The preparations include more investment for Wonderful Indonesia, brand positioning and promotion, digitalized information, preparing transportation with doing coordination with airport, air aircraft movement control, and transportation Ministry. Airports as the main gate for tourism have to prepare. The current aircraft movement of airports in accommodating customers’ demands needs to be calculated whether it’s still adequate or not. They can achieve the target only if they have enough aircraft movement for it. Hence, if the current aircraft movement is not adequate, some plans need to be made. The plan can be long term or short term. The uncertain demands, waiting time, and process time for different aircraft types are the characteristics of the system. The simulation can simulate the current condition and scenarios for improvement. The best scenarios result can reduce the waiting time and increase the aircraft movement much higher than before. |
