Doctoral Program in Industrial Engineering is designed for students who are interested to pursue high quality research that results in significant contribution to the field of Industrial Engineering. One of the requirements for graduating from our doctoral program is that a student has to publish her or his research work in a reputable international journal. Currently we offer three major areas within the field of industrial engineering:

  • Logistics and Supply Chain Engineering (LSCE)
  • Quality and Manufacturing Systems (QMS)
  • Industrial Systems Optimization (ISO)

Admission
Prospective students are expected to show good academic records (minimum GPA of 3.00) and meet English proficiency requirements (a minimum TOEFL Score of 500). The acceptance of a candidate would also subject to the availability of supervisors and the suitability of the candidate’s research topic.

During The Program
Doctoral Program in industrial engineering is a full-time program. Normally, we expect students to work in the residence rooms during working hours. The program consists of coursework stage as well as research stage. During the coursework stage, students must attend and pass at at least four courses while working on their research proposal. Students must present the research proposal in front of a panel that consists of supervisors and three examiners. The same panel will also examine the dissertation when it is completed. The normal duration of a doctoral degree program is 3 – 4 years.

Graduation
In order to be awarded the doctoral degree, students must accomplish all courses during the coursework stage, defend their thesis to satisfy the requirement implied by the graduate office, as well as publish at least one scientific paper in an international academic journal.
